Shimano Fishing New Zealand is excited to announce the release of the new Saragosa SW range of salt water rated spin reels. The Saragosa SW has had a substantial overhaul and now features many of the components that are also found in the top-of-the-line Shimano Stella SW family.

Encased in a hybrid aluminum and XT7 graphite body with an XGT7 rotor, Shimano's legendary X-Ship bearing supported pinion gear and larger drive gear delivers remarkable cranking power with less effort and a smoother feel. X-Shield and X-Protect keep salt water out of key areas, whilst the cross carbon drag is also waterproof. In fact, the Saragosa SW range is capable of delivering between 10 and 20kgs of usable drag depending on model.

A one piece bail arm assembly smoothly guide the line to the roller, Shimano's Cam Oscillation system combines with the AR-C spool to ensure that braided line, such as, Power Pro or Suffix 832 lays neatly on the retrieve without creating dips or troughs and leaves the spool with less resistance when casting for distance and accuracy.

Available in four (6000, 10000, 20000 and 25000) models to suit different applications and anglers preferences.

This feature eliminates wobble during the retrieve by counter balancing the rotor to enhance sensitivity and smoothness.

X-SHIP
By supporting the pinion gear on both ends with our S-ARB bearings and integrating a bigger drive gear, Shimano increased the gearing efficiency and power. This results in a fishing reel with ultra-light handle rotation; less effort and power giving a perfect rotation even under heavy loads.

PALADIN GEAR DURABILITY ENHANCEMENT
Paladin Gear Durability Enhancement Spinning Using a special cold forged aluminium drive gear and a hardened brass pinion gear. Reels equipped with the Paladin Gear Durability Enhancement will retain their out-of-the-box smoothness much longer than before. In fact, testing has shown that this combination is more durable than an all-stainless steel drivetrain while maintaining the smoothness that Shimano is famous for. 

PROPULSION LINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
The most obvious component of the Propulsion Line Management System is the new Propulsion spool lip design. Through tens of thousands of casting tests and computer simulations it has been determined that this new spool lip design provides longer casting distances than a standard spool lip design while preventing backlashes and wind knots from forming. It also allows the line to flow off of the spool in smaller loops during the cast which means less slap on the stripper guide. This means longer casts with less friction. The Propulsion spool also utilises a long stroke design to further enhance the casting distance. Furthermore, there is less bouncing of the line on the spool lip like on a standard spinning spool. Because of the unique shape of the Propulsion spool, the line flows consistently off of the spool. So, with a standard spool, friction alternates from heavy to light as the line slaps the spool lip. This causes backlash and inconsistent line speeds. The Propulsion spool lip provides consistently light friction to overcome these situations.
