I personally use the Shimano Abyss 60-100lb Bent Butt rod matched up with a Talica 50II for my deep drop fishing excursions and find them very sensitive, yet powerful.
This rod is forgiving to the angler, yet brutal on the fish. Makes the job of winding up fish out of 450m a lot easier than it is otherwise if using a broomstick rod.
My recommendation as to quality and practicality is 10 out of 10
