These deep Drop lights have many uses, they can be used on your swordfish rigs, Hapuku or Bluenose Rigs, And they work exceptionally well as an addition to the bottom of your jig, when jigging for Hapuku or Bluenose. I have also caught several Trumpeter on my Jigs when I have had one of these lights attached to the bottom of my deep drop jigs. They definitely improve the catch rate when deep jigging, I have also caught kingies on jigs with these lights attached, however I don't believe they actually enhance the kingie jigging to any noticeable degree, But for slow jigging the deep, the results are very noticeable.
