To work the lure effectively, keep your rod tip down. Use a steady retrieve while pumping the rod tip to achieve a walking and gliding action. A very subtle presentation is often enough to create interest, so don’t jerk the rod, just use light twitches.
You can also try a very different approach with the X-Rap Walk. Cast the lure out, keep the rod tip up and retrieve as fast as you can. The lure simply spurts across the surface in a straight line, but the presentation can really make your day on the saltwater flats.
