Cabo PTs trolling reels feature 4 stainless-hybrid PT bearings for ultra-smooth performance as well as a solid, one-piece aluminum frame that won't flex under extreme loads. The Quantum Magnum ceramic drag system dissipates heat better than ordinary drags and provides smooth tension even for long fish runs. Cabo PTs trolling reels also feature our famous Saltgard 6-layer corrosion protection finish to protect against the harsh saltwater environment. Choose from conventional trolling or levelwind, with either a standard spool or extra-capacity wide spool design.

CONTINUOUS ANTI-REVERSE
Quantum's Continuous Anti-Reverse elimiinates any reverse handle slap-back to deliver rock-solid hooksets and less shock to the reel.
It provides greater hooksetting power for more fish-fighting control and protects gear train from damage.

ALL METAL FLEX FREE FRAME
Quantum's lightweight, one-piece precision-machined aluminum frame does not flex, even under the severest strain; and tighter tolerances precisely locate gears and keep bearings in perfect alignment for smooth winding and long life.

Most reels use stock, low-cost bearings designed for other applications. not ours. We developed our own stainless bearings to exact specifications to minimize vibration and rotational friction. We even fit them in a polymer composite bearing cage to dampen noise and intensify sensitivity.

PERFORMANCE TUNED SALTGUARD CORROSION PROTECTION. Saltgard six-layer finish starts with an anodized conversion coating that forms a dense molecular barrier on the aluminum. Two separate high temperature dip processes deposit a corrosion inhibitor in the microscopic pores of the aluminum, protecting it from saltwater intrusion even if it's scratched. The surface is then primer painted, followed by a base coat and a clear coat to provide additional protection and keep you reel looking its best.

PERFORMANCE TUNED GEARS PT tuned Gears are CNC machined to the highest tolerances using a specially tuned brass alloy for smooth, powerfull retrieves, superior durability and absolute corrosion protection.

PERFORMANCE TUNED CONSTRUCTION. The one piece frame is Diecast from high strength aluminium alloy. Our exclusive PT bearings are precision fitted in critical locations to hold gears and shafts in perfect alignment under the most extreme saltwater conditions.

PERFORMANCE TUNED POWER. A forged aluminium handle with oversized knob efficiently transfers maximum cranking power.

MACHINED ALUMINIUM SPOOL withstands the stress of heavy fish.

PERFORMANCE TUNED MAGNUM CERAMIC DRAG SYSTEM. Magnum multi-stack drag system uses exclusive oversize ceramic washers delivering superior heat dissipation and smoother performance than conventional drags. Spool is supported by two stainless PT bearings to ensure perfect rotation under heavy drag loads.

ONE PIECE ALUMININM SIDE PLATES with anodized protection rigidly supports the gear train and protects it from corrosion and abuse.

Why Performance Tuned™?

Our engineers fish. And when they're not fishing they're thinking about fishing. Thinking. Tinkering. Toying. Dreaming. Failing. Winning. Oh, they always get it right, even if it takes them, well, three years, like PT did. (A calendar year is like 10 in Quantum "engineer life." Strange beings, they are.)

Quantum PT could stand for "painstaking." It took great pains to create Performance Tuned - to design and test the mechanics that make up this line of light tackle. And our engineers were finally at peace. For freshwater.

Then, as usually happens with quality tackle, PT made the move to salt, and sent us back to the drawing board. So, for saltwater anglers, that means PT might just stand for "perfect timing."

Harsh, corrosive saltwater. Extremely aggressive fish. What kind of tough tackle comes between the two for those bluewater crazies who like a little light in their fight? PT Saltwater. Performance Tuned - finalized through trial and error, baptized in saltwater - is all about tough. It took countless hours to perfect the inner workings and outer coatings that define this Quantum line. A lot of them in our test lab before even getting a hook wet.
