Crafted high in the French Alps, these tough knives of simple design and rugged materials have long been a favorite of Europeans. The original Opinel line was created by founder Joseph Opinel in 1890. Today, the knives' carbon steel blades are set in attractive Beechwood handles.
The Opinel Knife, famous and unchanged since 1890. With a classic and unique design, these French country knives all have a natural wood handle, and models over 7cm in length also feature a safety locking ring.
Available in both carbon and stainless steel blades, they range in size from just a 3.5cm blade, right up to 12cm on standard models.
These Knives here are the Carbon steel models as they hold the best edge (a good shaving edge), and they are the most popular.
Pearwood handle and tempered high carbon steel blade with crowned hand hallmark etching. All feature safety ring for locking blade except #3, #4, and #5 which do not lock.
