The Kilwell Heavy Metal Talon rod blanks have beeb constructed using Multi-Layered Technology using 30-43 million modulus, high carbon cloth to give an extremely light blank with immense power. With the addition of a Kevlar wrap in the butt section these rods have a dead lift capability of up to 41kg for the #550 rod.

To give Kiwi anglers the edge during a long day on the water, Kilwell have designed the Heavy Metal Fire range of speed jig rods to be extra powerful while remaining physically light to hold. Meticulous attention to detail is paid to the construction of each and every Heavy Metal rod. The rods are handcrafted, then custom finished with high quality fittings at the Kilwell Rodcraft factory in Rotorua. This rod blank has been constructed using Multi Layered Technology using a 90% carbon -10% glass mix. ALPS componentry has been used throughout from the triangular reel seat with anti-corrosive titanium carbide coating, to the stainless deep pressed zirconian oxide PVD coated guides. ALPS anodized gimbal and spacers are colour coded to match each model in the range, which has an action ideally suited to a designated jig weight range.
