Depth Sounder Secrets - by Rick Huckstepp
Take the mystery out of your sounder! How to read your screen, interpret what you see, what's a fish and what's not, how to set your sounder up, and much more from fishing guru Rick Huckstepp. This is a new 2006 release.
Rick Huckstepp has been providing informative instruction on depth sounders at shows and via editorial columns for the past 10 years. This book is a direct result of the many questions that have arisen at various shows. You will learn not only how depth sounders operate, but also what to look for and how to interpret what you see on the screen. For beginners and experts alike, this book will help you to maximise the features of your depth sounder.
As depth sounders (often called fish finders) become more sophisticated - even at the bottom end of the market - many anglers are at a loss to use the understand them correctly.
In this book Rick describes in detail, complete with colour examples of real screens:
- How sounders work
- How to set them up
- How they display the information they receive from underneath the boat
- How screen images relate to specific images in the water - the fish, the bottom and any structure above the bottom
- Learn how to pick fish and structure from the bottom, to identify the composition and fish-holding potential of the bottom
This book not only tells you what you are actually seeing, but what you should be looking for if you want to find more fish.
