NOTE: As of 02-12-2020 we finally increased our standard freight from $5- to $8-. as the $5- flat charge could no longer be sustained. we had set the $5- back in 2004 and absorbed the annual increases every year until now, where this option has become unsustainable. We would love to be able to give free freight, but as yet we have not found a courier that offers this service :-) .
Also in 2021 NZPOst (the NZ RURAL DELIVERY OPERATOR) fully enforced their maximum length rule of 1.5m. So therefore we can NOT get any parcels over 1.5m to Rural delivery areas. You need to be serviced by Aramex or be happy to pick your parcel up from the nearest Aramex Depot for any items over 1.5m. This is out of our control, as it is enforced by NZPost, and we have no sway in their decision making. If it is not possible for you to pickup, we will simply refund you, if you still proceeded with the order.

Unless specified, your fishing tackle order will be shipped via the most economical carrier, shipping costs will be a flat $8- on "THE TOTAL AMOUNT" of your purchase (Some exceptions on extremely large items), within Mainland New Zealand. We will ship to Chatham's but the purchaser will be asked to pay actual freight cost. The best way to get product to you on the Chathams is if you have a freight account with Napier Providoring, and we simply send your goods there, and they on-send it to you against your freight account.

Rural Delivery Contractors will not deliver PARCELS LONGER THAN 1.5M - So You will need to supply an Address where Aramex Delivers, Or have it sent to you C/- an ARAMEX DEPOT OF YOR CHOICE FOR YOU TO PICKUP FROM THERE.

For Rural delivery and delivery to Waiheke, Great Barrier and Stewart Island, you will need to select the RURAL (RD) option of $13- for shipping. We left this at the subsidised $8- for several years, but unfortunately, we simply have been getting too many small orders for RD or Island address's and it means we actually lose money on doing these orders, so we have had be realistic and charge $13- for all RD and island address's. It costs us at least $13- to ship to these address's and more for larger items, so we are still subsidising in most cases. If an RD address, forgets to pay the correct amount, we will send them internet bank transfer instructions to deposit the difference, prior to us sending the goods (Change made and valid from 01-12-2017)

We ship 99% of orders on same day as order is received, However please allow 3-5 days for goods to be shipped, as sometimes, due to high amount of orders on some products, we may run out, and have to wait for stock replenishment to arrive from our suppliers.
Most North Island addresses will receive goods after 1 day, to Christchurch is 2 days, and further south is 3 working days delivery time after goods are shipped.

As we only charge a nominal $8- per order (for NZ Shipping, or $13- for NZ Rural delivery), then please note that this is a "per order" fee, and includes administration costs of processing orders. If you happen to make more than one order at a similar time, then we may well send the 2 orders together, but we don't give freight refunds for orders shipped together, as for us this incurs further administration costs. We heavily subsidise the freight anyway. Please be sure you have included all items in your original order prior to confirming the order.
I can assure you we don't make a profit off the shipping charges, and it takes time and resources to process each order, and it of course takes more time to process refunds if requested. Hence why we call it a "Per Order" freight fee.

We only ship goods to physical addresses, as couriers cannot deliver to a P.O. Box. If a parcel is small enough to be sent to a P.O. Box and you don't provide a physical address as an alternative, then we may at our discretion send to that P.O. Box. BUT There will be no cover on the goods, so you as the customer bear all responsibility, if the Post office say it was delivered to your box. Your only redress will be to personally take the issue up with the Post Office!!

PLEASE NOTE: Check your package carefully for any signs of damage, IF goods are damaged in transit - DO NOT sign for them. Once you have signed for goods, the couriers will not honour any claims. IF you sign for damaged goods DFS also can not take any responsibility for goods damaged in transit. We pack goods exceptionally well and have very few claims for damaged goods. There is no problems having goods replaced if damage is noted to the courier prior to signing. 
 

RETURNS


Customer satisfaction is our number one goal. If our customers are not completely satisfied with any product that is purchased from Discount Fishing Supplies, for whatever reason, the item may be returned, prepaid, within 30 days of purchase. We will gladly replace, exchange, or credit the items. We do ask that the item be returned in the same condition as received with all of the original paperwork. All returned Items for credit are subject to a 15% restocking fee. Shipping charges are non-refundable. As we subsidise the shipping cost (to a very large amount on some orders), then we will deduct the full amount of shipping costs that has actually been paid by us to ship your product, Plus you will have to pay the actual shipping fee for the replacement item if you are exchanging goods, for different size or model. the restocking fee helps cover the cost of packaging and time involved in initial packing and subsequent unpacking, and inspection of returned goods.

As mentioned we are happy to exchange goods, where the customer has made a mistake in the ordering, but this can not be at our expense, Hence why actual freight must be paid for exchange items, as we heavily subsidise the freight cost. And with larger items then the actual freight cost can be high, so please order goods carefully.

No returns are accepted on used items, items that are not in original condition, books, videos, software, or cut lengths of line, rigging, Netting etc. Special order items are also non-returnable.

Where line has been especially fitted to a reel, there will be no refund for the Line, as chances are that next person to purchase the reel will want a different line class on the reel.
 

WARRANTY RETURNS


All freight incurred for any warranty claims or warranty returns are payable by customer.

It is normal business practice that goods be returned to place of purchase, or Wholesalers premises at the customers cost. If the claim is a warranty issue, then you will not have to pay the freight for the repaired or replaced goods to be returned back to you.
There are no exceptions to this proviso.
